William Calhoun Memorial

Overview

The William Calhoun Memorial Scholarship was established by his wife, Sharon, and daughter, Susan Calhoun-Fagan, in honor and memory of Bill’s long career as a teacher and coach in the Walled Lake Consolidated School District. Bill worked for 36 years as a geography teacher and 38 years as a varsity football coach. His family chose to honor Bill’s memory with a scholarship given to a graduating senior from Walled Lake Northern High School who excels in athletics and intends to pursue a career in teaching. William Calhoun also served as assistant principal at Western H.S. for twenty-five years from 1969-1994, and upon his retirement his family and friends created this scholarship in his honor.
