Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant

Overview

The Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant is a federal grant program established for dependents of military personnel who died in service in Iraq or Afghanistan after the events of 9/11. This grant is available to students who are not eligible for a Pell Grant solely because they have less financial need than is required for Pell, but who meet other specific military-related criteria. At the time of the parent's or guardian's death, the student must have been less than 24 years old or enrolled at least part-time at an institution of higher education.
