Overview

The Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship (Fry Scholarship) provides Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits to the children and surviving spouses of service members who died in the line of duty while on active duty after September 10, 2001. It also applies to the children and surviving spouses of members of the Selected Reserve who died from a service-connected disability. The program was established to honor the memory and sacrifice of Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry by ensuring his fellow service members' families have access to higher education.
