Athens Carolyn L. Burnett Scholarship Fund

Overview

Carolyn Burnett began her teaching career at “Foot of the Lake” (Madison Lake) School in Bronson, Michigan, where she taught eighteen students from grades 1st through 8th in a one-room school building. She subsequently taught for a brief time at Eaton Rapids, then spent 36 years with Springfield Schools teaching 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades. Carolyn received a great deal of satisfaction in seeing her students succeed in various careers and become good, honest citizens. She has made a difference in the lives of many and will continue to do so through awarding a scholarship each year to an Athens graduate.
