Overview
The John M. McKay Scholarships for Students with Disabilities Program was established in 1999 to provide Florida students with disabilities the option to attend a participating private school or to transfer to another public school. It was one of the first programs of its kind in the nation. In 2022, the McKay Scholarship was merged into the Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-UA) to create a single, unified education savings account program.
