Blanche Robertson Bacon Honors Scholarship

Overview

The Blanche Robertson Bacon Honors Scholarship program was established and endowed by the late Julian Robertson and his wife Josie in honor of his sister, the late Blanche Robertson Bacon '53HS '55C. Mrs. Bacon was a devoted Saint Mary’s alumna who served on the school’s board of trustees for 16 years and was the first recipient of the Outstanding Alumna Award and the John Bratton Jr. Award for distinguished service to the school. As a student leader, Blanche was elected assembly chair for the 1954-1955 school year, and this scholarship recognizes an incoming 9th or 10th grade boarding student from outside the Triangle area who demonstrates a strong academic foundation and a dedication to her community.
