Perseverance Awards

Overview

The Perseverance Awards are $1,000 scholarships designed to celebrate two South Lyon students (one from each high school) who have overcome significant challenges in their lives or demonstrated dramatic academic improvement throughout their high school careers. The South Lyon Educational Foundation (SLEF) was created by a group of dedicated parents, teachers and community leaders motivated to help the district provide the best possible educational opportunities for students, particularly as state-level school funding decisions have frequently left the district with less per-pupil funding than other communities. SLEF’s mission is to augment and enhance educational programming through planned giving efforts, grants, and scholarships to support the district's resource needs.
