Patrick Irwin Scholarship

Overview

The Patrick Irwin Scholarship was created by Betty Cummings ’82, ’09 in honor of Patrick Irwin ’86, who received the University’s Recent Graduate Award in 1997. Patrick is committed to helping students from limited resources attend college and has been an active member of the Detroit community volunteering as a youth counselor, labor committee chairperson, and school board member. He was also responsible for helping found the Cesar Chavez Academy, which is housed in the same building where he attended grade school.
