Overview

The Alabama Accountability Act (AAA) allows for tax-credited scholarships for students in 'failing' public school districts to attend non-failing public or private schools. It was established as part of a legislative effort to provide educational options for students trapped in underperforming school systems. The program functions by allowing donors to receive tax credits for contributions made to Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs), which then distribute the funds to eligible students.
