Tax Credit Scholarship Program

Overview

The Alabama Tax Credit Scholarship Program allows individuals and corporations to receive tax credits for donations to Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs). These SGOs then provide scholarships to students from low-income families to attend a participating non-public school or a different public school. The program was established to increase educational freedom and provide financial assistance to families who wish to choose an alternative to their assigned public school, particularly those in underperforming districts.
