Century Panther Pride Scholarship

Overview

Rochester’s Century High School opened in 1997, and the first group of students to graduate after spending all four years at Century was the class of 2001. To celebrate that milestone, that class decided to honor classmates who were graduating despite having faced significant life challenges, and they presented two seniors with $1000 scholarships to help fund their post-secondary education. The purpose of the CHS Panther Pride Scholarship fund is to award, each year, a $1000 scholarship to a graduating senior who has been met with substantial personal or family obstacles, and who has demonstrated outstanding resilience, responsibility, and determination needed to make it to graduation and pursue post-secondary education. The recipient may use the award to attend a trade or technical school, 2- or 4-year college, or another program that provides the opportunity to earn a diploma, licensure or certification.
