The Jed Fyle Memorial/our Lady of the Lakes Parish Scholarship

Overview

Jed Fyle was a 1983 graduate of Pequot Lakes High School and the youngest of five. After graduating with an Automotive Maintenance Technician degree, he worked in Minneapolis for a short time. He moved back to the lakes area to work on cars and at a marine dealership. Jed loved to work on motorized vehicles, ride snowmobiles and race them. The evening before Father’s Day 1987, Jed was killed in a boating accident on Pelican Lake. His good friend initiated this scholarship, with his parents and snowmobile race team led by Dan Zimmerman, continuing the scholarship in his memory. The scholarship is intended to support an applicant enrolling into a post-secondary Vocational/Technical or 2-year Associate’s degree program.
