Overview
The Bernard “Duke” Gawne scholarship was established in memory of Mr. Gawne, a long-time Oak Park resident whose children attended Oak Park and River Forest High School. Bernard was a 1934 graduate of OPRFHS and a graduate of the University of Illinois who was dedicated to the Oak Park and River Forest communities. This scholarship was established in 2012 through his estate to support graduating seniors in their pursuit of higher education.
