Overview
Mrs. Brandstrader’s grandchildren established this scholarship to honor their grandmother, who raised eight children with her husband Frederick in Oak Park. All three sons attended college, but the family did not have the funds to send their daughters. The scholarship was established to honor her memory and her commitment to education and social justice; Catherine was herself an alumna of Oak Park and River Forest High School.
