Overview

The American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship Program is an academic challenge for students that has been held by The American Legion for more than 80 years. The program invites students to learn about the country’s Constitution through a contest centered on the basic principles of government. The contest involves a prepared oration on an aspect of the United States Constitution with an emphasis on a citizen’s duties and obligations, as well as an assigned topic to test the speaker’s research and knowledge.
