Overview

The Robert Turner Baseball Scholarship was established in memory of Robert (Bob) Turner, who was born in 1922 in Woodsfield, OH, and moved to Crystal, MI in 1935. Bob served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II from October 1942 until his honorable discharge in March 1946, reaching the rank of Sergeant and receiving the Good Conduct Medal, Pacific Star, and Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal. Bob was a life-long fan of baseball whose son Bryce played Michigan American Legion Baseball, and the scholarship was created to help young Michigan Legion Baseball players achieve their dreams and continue their education.
