Asylum Grant

Overview

The Asylum Grant, often associated with state-specific programs like the Illinois RISE Act or Washington WASFA, provides state financial aid to students who are ineligible for federal aid, including those with asylum status, DACA, or other undocumented statuses. These programs were established to ensure that students regardless of citizenship status have access to higher education funding. They are intended to support students who meet state residency and financial need criteria but are blocked from receiving federal Pell grants or loans.
