Distinguished Young Women of Michigan is part of a national scholarship program that promotes and rewards scholastics, leadership and talent in young women. Formerly known as the Junior Miss Program, it is the Nation’s longest running scholarship program for high school senior girls. Begun in 1958, Distinguished Young Women has impacted the lives of more than 765,000 young women. Their mission is to empower high school young women by providing scholarship opportunities, developing self-confidence and teaching crucial life skills needed for success in college and beyond. Distinguished Young Women inspires high school girls to develop their full potential through a fun, transformative experience that culminates in a celebratory showcase of their accomplishments.
