Overview
Loraine Gay was a teacher of mathematics, Director of Counseling, and Dean of Students at South High School in Saginaw. As an educator, Loraine inspired her students to excel in their studies and in their personal lives. Loraine served the alumnae of the U-M through the local Saginaw Club, raising funds for their scholarship program, and on the national Alumnae Council Board. The fund was established in 1974 through her bequest to provide scholarships for in-state undergraduates, with a preference for students from the Saginaw area.
