Federal Grant Programs

Overview

The federal government provides grant funds for students attending colleges, career schools, and universities. Unlike loans, these grants do not have to be repaid and are intended to assist students with exceptional financial need or those committed to specific public service roles. The major programs include the Federal Pell Grant, the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), the Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant, and the Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant.
