Lee Weyer Athletic Scholarship

Overview

Lee Howard Weyer was born in Imlay City in 1936 and graduated in 1954 from Imlay City High School where he was a three-sport performer in basketball, football, and baseball. He went on to have a distinguished career as a National League baseball umpire for twenty-six years, officiating in four All-Star games and four World Series, including those in 1969, 1976, 1982, and 1987. This fund was established in his memory following his death in 1988 to support Imlay City scholar-athletes and those pursuing training at recognized umpire centers.
